I will not look back even if you fall I hope your pain was worth it all Name: Marek Nickname: None unless someone makes one up IC Gender: Male Age: 7 years
Pack: None for Now Duty: n/a
Appearance:
A plain and simple grey wolf who lacks the extravagant colouring of many of the other inhabitants of this land. His coat is actually quite dull; grey interspersed here and there with browns and darker greys along his back and the top part of his tail and ‘masking’ his face. His underparts and legs are a softer creamy-white and his eyes are a dull golden colour. His muscles are quite powerful, fit for his relatively large build; though, with age his bones have gotten weaker and he’s not just as strong or as fast or agile as he used to be.
Due to an accident in his past, the entire right side of his body is badly burnt. Much of it is just dead skin and scar tissue but there are a few tufts of fur growing here and there. The right side of his face is just the same, making his bite far less powerful than a ‘healthy’ wolf. His right eye is completely blind and slightly swollen over and his ear is almost all burnt away. Usually, he walks with a limp as his right side is much weaker than his left.
Personality:
As someone who has be screwed over one too many times, Marek is not the happiest nor sociable of wolves. He tends to be very grumpy and bad-tempered, angering easily though not in the most common way; when he is angry he keeps his voice though and dangerous and will only shout when he gets really peeved off.
With a hate-filled heart and a mission of revenge against those who wronged him when he was younger, Marek is not the type to walk over to a stranger and have hearty conversations with them, instead preferring to stay off by himself with his thoughts. Most of the time, he finds no trouble with this as his foul appearance tends to repel others. (He would never admit it, but he hates being alone; he’s just scared that he’ll be betrayed again if he gets close to someone).
Underneath his rough demeanour, however, he does have a gentle heart and will sometimes find an excuse to stay around those who will actually talk to him. He is deeply loyal to those who have earned his loyalty but cross him and he will get revenge.
History:
Marek’s puphood was nothing special, he was one of two males, born into a litter of five. Not all of his siblings even survived into puphood (one died just after being born), but that didn’t concern him as he was too young to remember. What he does remember is his brother getting killed by a bear just a few weeks after the pups set foot out of the den. It had scared him at first, but then he began to realise that that was just a part of life; he decided to look after the living after that and took it upon himself to protect his remaining sisters.
When the time came to leave the small pack, he set out on his own, hoping to make a pack of his own or perhaps find one which would accept him. And, after just a few months of living on his own and developing his survival skills and hunting techniques, he found a medium-sized pack which was willing to let him into their fold.
He spent many years living happily with this pack, finding his place and making many close friends. He enjoyed the pack life, he couldn’t imagine ever being alone after having that experience. But, one day, while out on a hunt with the other hunters, his faith in others would be shaken to the core.
He was a bit over four years at the time and part of the hunt. It was a warm summer day; it hadn’t rained for a while and the ground was dry. The members of the hunt had had split into groups to track their prey through the small forest when suddenly the sky lit up with forks of lightning.
Unfortunately, the lightning hit a tree near where Marek had been and, with the ground being so dry, had set that whole part of the forest alight. Marek found himself trapped with nowhere to run from the rising flames and called on the other pack members to help him.
It had been his bad luck that the members he had been with had never liked Marek.
They had only given him a sadistic smirk from the other side of the wall of flame and then turned their back on him, running from the burning wood and chuckling to themselves as they left him to die.
Marek had thought he was going to die and he almost gave up as the flames drew closer around him, collapsing onto the dry soil and grass. The searing pain of the flames licking at his side, however, was enough to cause him to move and he realised that he couldn’t give up and die that easily. He finally found a way out of the flames and ran away as fast as he could until he collapsed again from exhaustion, blacking out.
It took weeks for him to heal to be able to walk semi-normally again and to get used to his reduced senses. All the while, his hatred and grudge against those wolves that had left him grew stronger and stronger until he swore he would get revenge on them.
Months later, he found out that the pack he had once belonged to had disbanded and that at least one of the wolves who had left him to die was dead himself.
Marek only grumbled at this setback and went on with his life, swearing that if he ever met any of those wolves again, he would kill them himself.
