The Alpha is the leader of the pack. There may be up to two Alphas and if so, they are always a mated pair. Their word is considered law, and only they have the power to edit pack laws. They are responsible for all major decisions in the pack, and for the general safety of their packmates. They are often the only pair to mate, and as such if another pair in the pack wish to do so, permission must be sought from this rank. They have the power to demote, promote, or chase out any pack member at any time, as they see fit. They are also the only rank permitted to accept new wolves into the pack.[/td][/tr]
